Cheakamus River Pedestrian Bridge, Whistler

Project Description

Along the Sea to Sky Trail south of Whistler, an existing timber bridge used to cross the Cheakamus River was deemed to be unsafe, and was closed. The replacement was designed as a cable suspension bridge anchored into the bedrock on either side. The difficulty with this job was in access, which was only available via the trail. SWC mobilized a mini air-track drill which was used to successfully install the anchors.

  • Rock Anchors – 8-ea #14 threadbar
