Southwest Contracting is unique among shoring contractors in the Lower Mainland and Calgary. We are able to provide jet grouting, soil mixing and shotcrete shoring systems to meet both wet and dry conditions in all but the Bow River gravel formations (better addressed with secant piling).

In our 40 years addressing all types of shoring challenges we first utilized permeation grouting to “knit” soils together below grade to allow excavation in the dry. This has led to jet grouting and soil mixing for much larger projects in weak formations for both shoring and foundation support. The micro jetted pile was then developed by attaching our low overhead piling knowledge with jet grouting to allow small jetted piles in tight access locations.

Jet grouting and soil mixing in Calgary has yet to gain traction but as engineers become more aware of Southwest’s capabilities this is expected to change.

Challenging projects require special solutions. Southwest has a range of equipment and experience to install any seismic anchor, micropile, tiedown anchor, rock anchors, soil nails, pipe piles or spiles. Anchor types range from IBO's (Injection Bored) to DCP's. (Dywidag Anchors) From Jet Grout shoring to Strand Anchor installations.
