Project Description
This project involved constructing 1 km of 4-lane arterial road through central Coquitlam, including a major crossing of the Coquitlam River. The project required excavation, filling, grading, asphalt, concrete curb, gutter, sidewalk, asphalt path, retaining walls, acoustic concrete fencing, storm sewer, watermain, street lighting, intersection signalization, BC Hydro, TELUS, city communications ducting, signage, pavement markings and landscaping.
The bridge is a 4-lane 126 metre long crossing, consisting of 4 piled support spans.
The project included a habitat compensation component that involved constructing an “overwintering pond” on the foreshore of the Coquitlam River.
